Berniece's Story

Hi, I graduated with the class of '51.M y husband (Bob Butler) was in the military. We married in 1955 and I joined Bob in Newfoundland the following year. Two of our sons were born there. From there we went to New Mexico, that was not a really good place to live and from there to Washington state, Bob sure enjoyed the hunting and fishing. Then off to Alaska which was also a good place for hunting and fishing. We spent four years there and our last two sons were born there. From Alaska to Georgia, from the cold to the hot. We spent a lot of time on the beach. It was not a happy place for any of the Butlers. Now we are in California. Bob was sent to Vietnam, Bea and the boys stayed in California. ...Expand for more
Back to Washington, we decided to retire there, of course the fishing and hunting was great. He retired in 1974 and we moved to Sprague Wa. in1988.we have been here since. Some of the highlights: Bob and one of the boys were in fishing derbies throughout the state. I have always been a stay at home Mom except for now and then. I enjoyed being a house wife and mother. We took the Alaskan cruise for our fiftieth anniversary, My brother Marty and his wife and grandson were with us.Bob got very sick in 2004 and never completely recovered. He passed away Oct 11 2010. For the next two years I will remain in Sprague and then I will move to Spokane near to y sons. So far I have had a very satisfying life.
