Beth's Story
Workplace
Let's see. I was a perpetual student. Two years at Wittenberg University and one and a half years at the University of Wyoming and I completed my BS in sociology. I loved Laramie, WY, so I started a graduate program in forensic anthropology (1979--trendsetter that I was), but would have had to continue at the University of Tennessee with Dr. Bill Bass. So, I stayed in Laramie (for love) and worked as a baker.
In a year or two I returned to get an MS in Marketing. I worked with the Census Bureau and a marketing research firm in Denver. I turned 30, got divorced and moved to Key West to work as a pastry chef in a great restaurant. ...Expand for more
I did that and lived on a sailboat for 4 years. I knew there was more to my life, so I went to acupuncture school and then naturopathic school and I have worked my private practice in Naples since 1996. I treat patients, do research and teach.
I'm married with a son (Carson) who is 11 and a step son (Isaac) who is 17. My husband works for the State, my son is in modeling and acting and wants his own tv show and my step son is IMing and listening to his ipod. We are a loud, crazy, fun family.
Life is good. I have found that the things I didn't want (my own business, kids and marriage) are the things that are the most important to me.
