Okay, after all your hounding, dear public, I am posting a little story...
Once upon a time a curly, red-haired, young lass moved from Hollywood, FL to Denver, CO. There she lived for a few years until she was swept off her feet by a handsome young man who brought her to his kingdom in Wyoming. After four years, two weeks and one day of marital bliss (an oxymoron at the time), she bid him adieu. She preferred Cocoa Pebbles for breakfast and he, vodka. Back with her sisters in Denver, she skied, worked, and enjoyed (very much so!), the single life once again.
Fast forward several years. Her beloved cousin undergoes cancer treatments, but it is too late.
At 42, she leaves behind a husband and three kids, ages 2, 4, and 6. One year after her cousin's passing the woman meets the family her cousin loved so dearly. Everyone is in Homestead for the cousin's parents' 50th anniversary. She falls in love with the kids at first sight as they are so cute! She wants to bring them all home with her and tells them so, but the little girl, age 5, said she could not have them because they were a family with their daddy. "BUT," she said, "if you you pray to God very, very ...Expand for more
hard for a big bwudder and a little bwudder and a sister and a daddy, maybe you can get a family like this, too!!" Well, the woman went back to Denver, the family went back to North Carolina and they talked on the phone. After many calls and many dollars in phone bills, one day the dad asked the woman if she would like to come to NC and see how she liked it. She went; she fell in love with the kids all over again, and she fell in love with their daddy, too. He's only four yrs. older; he was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. At 18 his family moved to Perth, Australia, where this whole family went a couple years ago on vacation for a month-it's beautiful! It was the first time Nana got to see her USA grandchildren!
Another flash forward--the family has been married now for almost seven years. This year the kids are 11, 13, and 15. They are all straight A students, all are into Scouting (the oldest just got Eagle!!), and all are wonderful, sweet, loving human beings. The woman must have said her prayers, just like the little girl told her to do.
She is now living happily ever after in Oakboro, NC, in a castle on a hill in the woods, with her Prince Charming and three beautiful children.
