Beth's Story
Life
It is official! I am now Dr. Dalton! Seems a bit odd after 5 years of grad school. I completed M.Ed from Penn State Aug 2006 then began doctoral studies in Jan of 2007. I defended my Dissertation May of 2010.
I changed my last name to Dalton in 2005 (after a divorce) and I met the love of my life, Paul. I know, hearts are breaking all over town ;)
I moved to Granbury fall of '06 and love it! We live outside of town on two acres. It is so quiet and a wonderful change after the hustle and bustle of Ft Worth.
My family
I did not have children of my own although I have many substitutes; my students, and my wonderful bonus son, Marshall. Paul has a 22 year old son who lives with us part time when he is home from college.
We have several 3 legged children too, Bear, a border collie mix, sisters Coco, a chocolate lab,and Shadow the cat. Poor old Socks went to doggie heaven in June 2009.

y, assisting with research projects. Working on an college campus is so different than a high school. I hope to teach college soon.
I taught social studies in FWISD and I loved working with inner-city teens but all good things must come to an end. Ten years is long enough in any one job.
I am hoping to make the transition to higher education, teaching college education courses or consulting.
Hobbies
I love to camp and be outdoors, cook outs, fishing, boating, kayaking, and socializing with friends. Dancing and working out are high on my list too. When I have time, I love reading fiction, watching movies, listening to music, cooking, and entertaining. We also travel often, usually to Mexico or anywhere we can enjoy the water and scuba diving. We just bought kayaks and that is now my favorite activity, pedaling on the lake or down the river. Can't wait to head to the coast!
Thanks for reading about my life, and feel free to leave me a message. I would love to hear from you. You can also find me on a popular social networking site.
