Betsy Anne's Story

Today is unique- when I awoke with a pulse I just knew Ihad a purpose so sought out to find what it was I was to do today. All around me live persons who need an ear with which to be listened, have a need which needs meeting as best as possible, have a life worth sharing, and seem like really nice persons for who they are. Then there are those who.....and I just try to be nice. Now when it comes to special persons, that would include my hunk of 57 years, my three wonderful kids, David, Linda and Stephen(each a foot taller than I), Missy (Steve's lovely wife) and two wonderful grnddaughters, Tori and Paige, who live in W.VA. My brother, Raleigh, has lived with us since 1986, my sister, Nancy and husband,Phil, are in Fredericksburg, and brother Tom, and wife, Mary, live in Spotsylvania. We all stay busy but we often 'pass one another in the night'. Life in Warrenton since 1964, consists of Lenny (Jesse L.) working as a CPA fulltime still, and having a fast, aortic valve replacement 2009 and me having a shoulder displacement and curtailing driving 5 months! I'm again keeping the homefront, canning Raleigh's garden produce, spoiling the granddaughters as often as possible several times a year, teaching a Sunday School class at Warrenton Baptist Church and leading a senior group of 35 or so I began, called Sojourners, in monthly activities and in being the leader of our Women's Missions group. Inbetween times, I like tending my flowers, crocheting,k...Expand for more
nitting, and embroidery and other needlework. I have enjoyed learning to use the computer for my business and now for my pleasure. As a member of DAR, I have enjoyed researching my ancestors and using the recipe book I edited for the family. Writing for our church newpaper monthly and personal poems are favorites, as well as adding to my autobiography for my own remembering pleasure. Mrs. Whitehouse instilled that in me in 1948. In high school, I contributed to the sports column in our newspaper and wrote to Lenny in the Navy daily. It took me 5 years to hook him and have enjoyed 56 years of keeping him contented. I worked as a dietitian at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC while he finished his BA in Accounting at Strayers there, after 3 years in the Naval Air Force, while I attended Mary WAshington from -'49-'53 with a BS in Foods and Nutritian. Hence, I love to eat what I love to cook and do that daily quite well. Now that I am 'retired' from my paying job in my porcelain decorating business at our decorating plant in Ohio, I just try to sell all that is leftover in my basement from the business...the basement is still too full! Since I prefer to be busy, especially during tax season, I still look for interesting things like Red Hatters and community affairs in which to engage myself. One never knows what the next day will hold! I just say believe, pray, and "Treasure the moment". It can all be gone in an instant!

Pray for our nation, our leaders, the 'judges' of all sorts and for every citizen...perhaps most of all for the illegals who see in our actions anything but democracy at work. We need to repent as a nation and come back to
