Betty's Story
Life
I married my high school sweetheart in 1963 and we are still married today. We have one son, a grandson and granddaughter who are all the "lights of our lives". I am a nurse, just as I had planned to be. Life is what you make it to be. I am happy with what we made.
Workplace
I started working as a nurse in 1964 at Children's Hospital in San Diego on the 3pm to 11pm shift. I worked there for seven years then decided that I needed to have an occasional weekend for my family.
In 1970 I started working for Pediatric Medical Group. At that time there were two physicians, two nurses, two receptionists and three offices. We moved from office to office.

es. I was not only the head nurse but also the office manager without the title or the pay so I left.
I then went to work for a temp agency and for one month worked the best job I could imagine. I was the "site nurse" for a national TV show. It was "ZooVenture" and is still being shown on the "Animal Plantet" station and on the "Discover Kids" channel. I work there for one month while they filmed a full years worth of shows.
Next I went to UCSD where I made a 180 degree turn and went into Internal Medicine for three years. In August of 2001 after almost 40 years of nursing I retired to be a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, genealogist, Boy Scout Leader, traveler, webmaster, maillist owner, rockhound, editor of a club newsletter, activist against child abuse of any kind and anything else that I can fit into my life.
