Betty's Story
Life
After leaving Bellevue (sob) my mom and I moved to Philadelphia where I graduated (sob sob). I was a member of the Philadelphia Youth Symphony for 2 years. I attended Technical School where I graduated 2nd in my class as a Medical Assistant. I'm currently seeking employment as my husband is disabled awaiting back surgery.
I'm married to a wonderful man, Lee. We have 26 year old twin daughters, Ashley and Kelly, and our youngest daughter, Kaitlin, who is 16 years old. We also have 4 grandchildren. Landon who was born on Oct. 2, 2007, Kaydence Lynn who was born on March 15,2008, Benjamin who was born on Dec. 21, 2010, and McKenzie who was born April 23, 2014.
Following in my footsteps, Ashley and Kelly were both in Dickson County High School Marching Band. Kelly played flute and piccolo while Ashley was in marching and winter guard. Ashley was guard captain her senior year. Needless to say, I was a very proud band mom! Now we are getting to live it all again. Our daughter Kaitlin, has been marching with the Dickson County High School Marching Band. She is also in their wind ensemble. And, like her mom and her sister, she plays flute and piccolo.
I had gastric bypass surgery September, 2005. To date I have lost 200 pounds. Needless to say, it feels good to be a normal size ag...Expand for more

One member of my family I left out. Of course you want to put all the good and bragging things first. All my life I wanted to become a mom and have a little boy who I was determined was going to be named Michael. God answered my prayers and on April 4, 1982, I had my precious little boy. He was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. He was not only beautiful, but smart, funny, kind, caring, and very loving. He was my mom's pride and joy! Her first grandchild! She was in heaven on earth. All this wonderful story takes a horrible twist. We moved back to Tennessee (I was living in Philadelphia when Michael was born) in order to provide Michael with a safer environment because of all the crime in Philadelphia.
On May 24, 1986 was absolutely the worst day of my life. My now ex-husband took Michael to a trout farm hear our home. Even though I told him over and over to keep an eye on Michael, he didn't do so. My beautiful baby, the baby of my dreams died. I've never felt so lost or empty since that. My mother, who had been sick, died 4 months after my baby. She was sick and was only living for Michael. I take comfort in the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thanks to my church and our beliefs, I will see my precious son someday. Until that day, I remember him in my heart.
