Betty Lou's Story
I attended Morrilton Public Schools until the beginning of my Freshman Year. I grew up in Morrilton, living with my Grandmother. In the fall of 1967, I went to live with my father and during the school year of 67-68 attended five different schools in four different states. My dad was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters union and followed construction work. In the summer of 1968, we moved to Macon MO, as he was helping to build the Thomas Hill Power Plant there. I spent my sophomore year at Macon High School. I met and married my first husband the summer of 1969 and did not return to high school. We had three children, two sons and a daughter...Expand for more
. After that marriage ended in 1986, I obtained my GED and enrolled at Central Methodist College in Fayette in 1986, graduating in 1990 with a degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. I then moved to Columbia MO and worked at Shelter Insurance Company as a Business Systems Analyst before going in to Real Estate Sales in 1996. I married again in 1996, to a wonderful man who is still a dear friend even though we chose to divorce in 2004. After five years with REMAX Boone Realty, I and three other partners purchased the Assist2Sell franchise for Boone County MO and I have owned and operated this business since 2001 to the present time.
