Betty's Story
I attended Grandville Jr High in '76 & '77. I lived in Standale. My friends then were people who lived near me; Nina Cortez (bf), Kathy Dubicki, Shari Potter, Jamie whitcomb, and many more. I also hung with some of the elite girls of the Grandville area as well. I always tried to get along with everyone. I considered myself to have many friends including boys too. In my last year at Jr High, I started to hang with the more rougher crowds; the "partiers". I didn't see myself as one of the popular ones, but then I met up with an old classmate from GJH in my late twenties at an out-door party up north and he told me he considered me as one in the group of popular kids and that he felt that he wasn't good enough to talk to me. s at GJH with all types of people. I moved after 8th grade to Marne where I attended Coopersvile High School for 2yrs, then moved to Newaygo and attended Newaygo High School (My parents moved alot!) for one year, then I quit. Yes I was a "Drop-Out". I did go back to school many years later, got my GED in 2000 and then became a full-time online student at Baker College. I'm didn't get the degree I was studing for yet but my life isn't over yet either. I married when I was 20yrs. had two beautiful kids(a girl & a boy) by the time I was 25yrs. Today I am divorced. I have two beautiful grandchildren that mean the world to me. I'm happy, out-going, and enjoy many outdoor activities. I have no current goals except to "Cherish Yesterday, Live for Tomarrow, and Enjoy Today". :)
