Betty's Story
Life Today
In the late 90s I began art lessons, something I wanted to do in high school but wasn't settled down enough to try. Now I am doing oils. They are mostly landscapes, birds flower and some still life. It is the best way I have found to drift away from all your problems and into your painting. If by chance you want to look at some of my art, you will find them under Arts and Crafts. I now live in Roanoke, Va. Its a whole new life than Tazewell, but I love it and our home.
Life After High School
I was married in 1966 in August. I have three boys and 6 grandchildren.I will soon become a great grandmother.(feeling old)Ha
I worked for Tazewell Middle School for 18 years. I raised our children in Tazewell.

ks as deputy clerk at Tazewell Court House. She is 80 now and still working. My sister lives in the family homeplace since my mother remarried.
Late But did It!!
I went to college when I was in my thirties and completed my degree for Management Courses. I became Manager over the cafeteria at the Middle School.Got to work with Mrs. Dada Dye, Leon Yost and others I had know in High school.
At the present time I don't work. I mostly stay around the house.I love the outside and in the summer do a lot of work on our land.In the winter I have my art and needlework and of course HOUSEWORK which I hate buthas to be done.
If you ever in Roanoke and want to look me up,come on over and we will have a big cook out.
Signing out and hope to see some of you at the next reunion whenever that might be.
