Beverly's Story

Life I have worked at TVA 28 years--currently working in Nashville (I drive 150 miles a day to work). Received my MBA (2008) and Bachelor's degrees (2006)in Business Management at The University of Phoenix. I live in Cookeville on 100 acres with my husband David and our beautiful Shih-Tzus (Miko, Mei Ling, Mocha, Maya, Mitsu, and Mojo--the loves of my life, Musashi and Moose Lee, are in Heaven now--Musashi's the 'husband' of Mei Ling and the father of Mocha, Maya, Mitsu, & Moose), 2 ferrets (Brewster and Captain Bethany Ferret), and cats named Thom Thom, Maks, Minka, Maggie, and Tigger (all rescues). Our house is never quiet (or clean). I have two children: Leslie Clarke, who has four children [Caitlin (1990), Ashleigh (1992), Austin (1993), and Lauren (1997)] and lives in Chattanooga--and my son Shane Cox has three children [Tristan (1998), Zane (2000), and Kendyl (2001) - any Jackson to be born any day now] and lives in Knoxville--he is married to Amanda Lay. I also have a step-son and a grandson (both named David) and a granddaughter Nakita--he is a single parent and could really use a wife! They live in Cookeville also. As you can see, my husband and I are avid animal lovers. We spend most, well really all, of our money buying pet food, litter, etc. and if anything is left over we help animal rescues and other animal organizations and on the few pennies left, we eat. I have been a vegetarian since 2004 and I am currently writing a book on animals (includes biblical history [animals in heaven], animal intelligence, animal ...Expand for more
cruelty, near-death experiences, and more). Had to put on hold to attend school. School and driving 150 miles a day to work keep getting in the way of finishing the book. There are tons of research to be done for the book--I have read hundreds of books! When I retire I hope to go into some kind of animal ministry along with having an animal cemetery and sanctuary. An animal sanctuary would be wonderful--takes a lot of time and MONEY though--we try every week to win the lottery. I think God gave us 100 acres to do something worthwhile with. I've lived the life of sportscars, etc. But they are a waste of money -- Now, I live the simple life. We treat every day as if it's our last because you never know--my furbaby Musashi was only 4 years old and Moose only 7 when we lost them. Every morning, whether I get up late or not, I have 'morning loving' with all of my babies before I get ready for work. We feel it's time to give back to the animals who are the most special creatures God ever made. We feed the deer, wild turkeys, and other animals in our backyard and watch them from the kitchen window. They are so beautiful and no, there's NOT too many of them as folks would like to think so they can have an excuse to kill them--that would mean God made a mistake in making them and believe me, HE never makes mistakes. Our heaven is home with all our furbabies. One of us is always with them. We never go on vacation and leave them. There's nothing like loving beautiful animals and having them love you back. I hope you can try it some time.
