Beverly's Story
Life
After graduating in 1986, I went to West Ga College where I got a degree in education and a minor in Science/Math. I taught math and science to 7th graders for 3 years at Carrollton Jr High and then I quit for good. I read meters for Atlanta Gas Light for 1 year(walking up to 10 miles per day!) and then I came to the family business at Five Star Mfd Homes, where I remain today. I gave up money(what little you get as a teacher) for more comfort and easy working terms(and the ability to leave or vacate when I want to!)
I've had quite a few relationships which, to say the least, really strengthened my character and changed me from a liberal to a more conservative person-although I'd really define myself as a Libertarian. I love listening to Neal Boortz!
I love to manage our family finances too and Clark Howard is my hero!
I love animals and have 2 dogs that I walked daily until my daughter was born in March 2005. I married 2 weeks before my 35th birthday in 2003-to Cliff Thompson from Bremen. Neither of us had ever been married and we had no children! He is outgoing, cheerfu...Expand for more
l, and funny which contrasts nicely with my introverted, dark and sometimes moody personality.
I played keyboards and sang in a rock band for a couple of years while still in college. I miss that, but most of my musical friends moved or developed other interests.
I've been carefree and partied quite a lot, up until I became pregnant with Jade. Now I am much more settled and focused on being a good mother.
I get up at 5:30 am everyday and walk 2 miles. I play piano when I get a chance and I love singing karaoke. I read just before bed every night. I ride Jade in a backpack on my electric scooter every chance I get and we sing silly songs together.
I also figure quotes for my husband's cabinet business(he is an installer).
I'd love to reconnect with my OMA friends. I've come to realize how special they were in the last few years. I wish that I had hung on to them...they turned out to be some of the best people that I've ever known in my life.
That's about it. Oh-and I take Jade to Sunday School pretty much every week. And we go out to eat with Cliff whenever we get the chance!
