Billy's Story

I left Wauconda in June 1975 and joined the Army just a few weeks after turning age 17. Had Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood B-1-3 and graduated in mid August 1975. I went to AIT school at APG Maryland then was stationed at Fort Riley Kansas. In 1977 I graduated High School at Fort Riley. I left active duty in 1978 to attend Kansas State Uni (Manhattan) in 78-80 then in 1881 I returned to active military service with the Navy. Attended military tech school at the North Chicago Navy base and then went to San Diego Naval Station 32nd Street (SIMA). ons then moved to the Dallas area where I worked at LTV Aerospace as a calibration tech (mil-std-45662a) from 83-85 and 87-92 until I had to go onto permanent disability in 1993. Then I started a 7 year period of self-destructive behaviour until 2000. I somehow got turned around and settled down in Ballarat Australia with my third wife. Things have been going smoothly for the past 13 Years. I often tell my friends that I've been happily married for 25 years, however I've been married to three very different ladies over the past 35 years. I have one son from my first wife, none from the second and two school age children here in Australia.
