Blake's Story
Life
Blake has been a securities litigator in New York City for the last twenty four years. He also serves as the Chief Knowledge Officer for 750-lawyer Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
Blake has litigated technology and other issues on behalf of some of the world's most notable business organizations including Intel Corporation, Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), GTE Airfone, and General Motors Corporation. He twice has been named as among the one hundred and ten top Internet and e-commerce lawyers in the United States by Law Business Research in its Internet and E-Commerce: An International Who's Who of Internet and E-Commerce Lawyers. Blake is Editor-in-Chief of RealCorporateLawyer.com, a Web site devoted to securities regulation and corporate governance issuers. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Wall Street Lawyer and has written extensively in the area of cyberlaw for such publications as the New York Law Journal, eSecurities magazine, Cyberspace Lawyer and Investor Relations magazine. The second, also on the history of Pelham, is entitled "Town of Pelham's 350th Anniversary Celebration - Historian Blake Bell's Articles Published in The Pelham Weekly Plus Photos of Key Events". He is already at work on his third book. He has authored more than seventy articles on the history of Pelham in lower Westchester County, New York. He is also editor and publisher of HistoricPelham.com and a member of the boards of the Westchester County Historical Society, the Pelham Preservation Society and the Society of the National Shrine of the Bill of Rights.
He has practiced with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett for eighteen years. He has also practiced with Cravath Swaine & Moore and Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York City. He received his B.A. in American Government with High Honors in 1980 from the University of Virginia where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1983. He was a Dillard Fellow, a Harry S. Truman Scholar and received the University's Most Distinguished Student Award.
He is married to Janice F. Ingram of Salem, Virginia. The couple has two children.
