Anne, Jon & Cora and I were at Pat's graduation July 27, 2012
On Family Day (July 26) Pat sang the National Anthem a cappella.
Pat went on to Fort Lee, VA, while we four continued our car trip.
Already we had trekked through Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama,
Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas, including being at a
Red-Sox-AT-Texas-Rangers game.
We continued via Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, a piece of Kentucky, then via Pittsburgh, Hershey, Lancaster,
then a visit to two of my cousins in Connecticut, then home!
For me this was 4700 miles of driving in about a week and a half!
Pat did a stint later on at Fort Benning, GA, learning parachuting.
After visiting us during the Christmas break,
he went on to Fort Campbell, KY.
He was married in late March 2013.
He served in Afghanistan
for most of the remainder of 2013 into early 2014.
Pat is back at Fort Campbell.

I admit, things are a LOT MORE mundane
than those very happy years living abroad
and studying at several colleges, but:
1) if I never were to travel again, it can always be said the memories are always there;
2) jobs I've had and things I enjoy don't tend to make oodles of money, but I'm happy enough;
3) it's been overall happy having a family.
#############################
From 1985 until 2007 I had been Organist
at United Baptist Church in Lewiston, Maine.
Due to shrinking finances they unfortunately
could no longer afford to pay me.
For several years I had performed half-hour Christmas Eve organ recitals.
I played "St. Anne Prelude & Fugue",
"Great G Minor Fugue"
and several "Chorale" (i.e. German hymn-tunes)
(incl. the wonderful "Jesu, meine Freude"), all by Bach,
and from the Mendelssohn organ sonatas...
among other Works.
I presented these works for the most part
during the 1998-2004 tenure of my close friend,
Rev. Jon Mark Vermilion.
After two years serving the Lord
in southern France (near Nice),
God has willed Jon to be back in Maine!
Since midsummer 2007 he has been
Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, Waldoboro,
located due east of us in the Midcoast region,
along Route 1, next door to Moody's Diner,
a famed eating establishment.
Since my organist tenure ceased,
from time to time Anne and I have attended
services in Waldoboro.
On June 29, 2008 Anne and I did an Offertory there.
Based on Verses from Psalm 33,
yours truly composed "Lord, Let Your Mercy" in 1985.
It is in the format of a Responsorial
for Soprano, Baritone, Piano and Congregation.
**********************************
At times I had also been involved with stage works.
During the mid 80s I was rehearsal & pit pianist for area productions put on by
Community Little Theatre (Auburn, Maine) and by Bates College:
"Jesus Christ, Superstar";
by Gilbert & Sullivan
- "Patience";
- "Pirates of Penzance;
- "Iolanthe".
For "Iolanthe" I was music director as well.
...............................................................
I stopped doing theatre and several other things
for about 15 years
to "catch a breather" by being a family man.
However, I was again at the keyboards in Jan.2003 for the Community Little Theatre production of
"The Phantom" (Maury Yeston version).
I "inherited" being "chorus warmup boy" as well.
In 2004 CLT put on
"The Scarlet Pimpernel" (Aug.19-22,26-30) at Lewiston Middle School.
Again I was rehearsal & pit pianist,
but this time I was also vocal director.
Over the course of four weekends in April and May 2005
yours truly was music director for "Jekyll & Hyde"
at Lyric Music Theater in South Portland.
The gorgeous music was composed by the same Frank Wildhorn
as in "The Scarlet Pimpernel".
My wife, Anne, was in the Ensemble of the show.
Among the bit roles she played was a "Gossip".
Yours truly was vocal director and pit keyboards
Oct. 6-16, 2005 at Community Little Theatre (Auburn, ME)
for their October performances of "Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' ".
The girl who played 'Belle',
Emily Flynn, conducted the
Greater Freeport Community Chorus, 2005-2006.
During 2005-2006 I was their accompanist.
Anne sang with the group during the 2006 portion.
Mar. 9-19, 2006 found me playing keyboards
at Community Little Theatre for "Grand Hotel".
............................
Community Little Theater presented
"Disney's 'High School Musical' ",
July 25-29, 2007...Maine premiere!
Anne played 'Darbus',
while Patrick was 'Mongo' (a 'Skater Dude').
Yours truly was music director.
All seats for all performances were sold out prior to the opening.
This is the first time this has happened in the history of CLT.
.............................
When I was an undergraduate student at Bridgewater (Mass.) State College
in the early 70s, I was rehearsal & pit pianist for:
- "Oklahoma"
- "A Horse of a Diff'rent Color" {Children's}
- "Fiddler on the Roof"
- "Carnival"
- "Carmen" {Bizet opera, at Brockton High School}
****************************
To make ends meet I have worked at several non-musical jobs.
From March 2004 till Nov. 201 I was a bank courier,
servicing Bank of America branches throughout southern Maine.
Since late Nov. 2011 I've been a driver for TD Bank.
We operate on seven-week cycles.
We do the six Routes, doing a different run each week,
then work the seventh week in the mail room,
doubling as a spare driver.
Our routes cover from Kittery to Bangor and Lincoln.
since late Sept. 2011:
Pharmaceutical Delivery Service Driver
I deliver pharmaceuticals to area nursing homes in Lewiston and Sabattus.
Typically this lasts from mid evening till about midnight.
Usually this night run is 15 to 30 miles,
