Bob's Story

I grew up as the son of a railroader. One of the best stops along my way was Marshalltown. Only because of St. Henry's and Lenihan High. My family was transfered to the Chicago area in 1968, so I missed Senior year at LHS. Mike Wilkes and I got together in 1979 and drove out to the reunion. I am having dinner with Mike, his wife, and sister Kathy, in Scottsdale, AZ. Sunday night 3/24/14. So I was also a railroader for 40 years. I was always interested in electronics. ring in Chicago, IL. I have been married for 33 years, but who is counting? I have a son and a daughter. Both went through college, have degrees and good jobs and are on their own. I have the loans to prove it. Whatever, they are just great kids. No marriages yet. Not a grandpa. Good grief, I will be 63 in a couple of weeks! I feel great. I have lost 20 lbs. recently. Oh, I have more to go. I take the train downtown to the city every day to work. Out of the hundreds of buildings in the city, I work in the same building with my daughter! Too weird huh? My wife is a teacher, too young to retire. So I will work until 65 or so. I hope to see you in Sept.!
