Bradford's Story

Life My life didn't turn out like I thought it would. The down turn of the economy in the eighties turned my life upside down and I didn't really recover until the late nineties. Even so, life has been a struggle. I wish that we had the resources in high-school that kids now have in computers. I didn't know how to find what I really wanted to do. I've tried a lot of things and I keep looking. I never married. I took care of my mother until she passed away in 2005. I live in her house. My dad passed in 1990. I am an easygoing fellow. I can change plans at the drop of a hat. I can dress from sloppy to tux. You will find me usually dressed in jeans, boots, dress shirt and hat. I am not a cowboy, but my grandfather was a ranch foreman and I have a Texas heritage back to Tejas days. My grandfather said to my mother, it is not whom your ancestors are that makes you, but who you are that determines what people really think of you. I place loyal friendship above my own personal needs. I like motorcycling and off-roading and adventuring, though I am not a hiker, I do like to walk. I can set a pace. Walking with another is a good time to share conversation and ideas. I don't possess a motor...Expand for more
cycle at this time, but am looking. When I travel, I don't make hard plans, because I like to stop and see, take pictures and experience the place. I prefer to travel the back roads and see the different places of this nation. I went to Spain recently and look forward to traveling back to Europe soon. I love a good laugh. I am a humorous fellow. But I'm not a comedian. I tell stories on myself, not bragging, I just find real life funnier than anything that can be made up. I have a dry sense of humor (I'm sarcastic). I'm working with another friend to write these stories down and try to publish them. I recently have lived through the sudden death of a close female friend. We dated for a number of years, but the relationship was more like a mentoring one. She had been cooped up in her parents care for years because of a bad heart. She had yet to live. She did finally move out on her own and was growing. Her bad heart caught up with her last March, 2007. She was a graduate of Westchester, 1978. In the last few years, her warm smile made many friends and her funeral had standing room only. I was privileged to have been there for her during these last years. Now I am alone again, looking again.
