Brenda's Story
Life
After HS (a few years later), I attended and graduated from Tennessee State University, where I majored in Mass
Communications/Public Relations. I attended AIU online, studying for my Masters in Education. I own an insurance agency; divorced and have a 24 year old son.
High school was a very painful time in my life. I had a crush on one boy whom I later married and we were together for 38 years. I was very shy back then. I am SO NOT like that now! :)
College was great!! Going away to school was one of the best investments I've ever made. That's when I "found" myself. I would advise every young person to go away to school at least one year.
I was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney Nov 2004...Expand for more
. Doctors told me that I wouldn't live if I didn't have surgery or
chemotherapy. Imagine that??? I prayed about it and opted to have the surgery but refused chemotherapy,
radiation and didn't need dialysis. I've never been on any medications for cancer and only saw the oncologist during surgery. That was NOBODY BUT JESUS!! If you don't know who the King is, you'd better ask
somebody!! Real talk!
It's been 5 years since the divorce and I'm excited about this new chapter in my life! I'll take nothing for my journey, as I am a favored child of GOD! This is 2018, it''s time to start dating again! ...these brothers out here are on something, I"m going to be single for a minute and I'm cool with that! :)
