Brenda's Story

Life (updated May 2010) I am living in southwest Michigan now with my son, three dogs, and six cats. Life is an incredible journey that you never know where it will lead. Career I work full-time from home as an editor and project delivery functional manager with CH2M HILL (a worldwide engineering consulting firm; started 2005) after a 4.5-year stint at URS Corporation as a senior editor/writer. My career has taken me from Michigan to Colorado, then to Milwaukee and back to Michigan (by choice). The world is an adventure waiting to happen! Hobbies I love to hike, bike, camp, horseback ride, enjoy watching wildlife/being outdoors, draw, paint, travel, and work on projects around the house. Since 1987, I worked as a public relations assistant, statistician, and public address announcer for MSU Sports Information (intercollegiate athletics) (1987-2001); coached Durand softball (1988-1998), volleyball (Durand and Corunna) and basketball; Durand marching band instructor; substitute teacher; assistant athletic director at Durand (1997-99); public relations director and track photographer at Owosso Speedway (1992-1997); wrote my own column (motorsports) for the Lansing State Journal (1993-2000); and was the communications coordinator and graphic designer for the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness/Michigan Fitness Foundation. I have been a reporter and photographer for several publications and newspapers, including the Owosso Argus Press, Lansing State Journal, Jackson Citizen Patriot, MSU Athletics, Durand Express, and MSU Alumni Magazine.
