David's Story
Since some may be wondering about the name change, here's the story:
I was adopted, but had been dealing with a variety of family issues over the years. By the time I had graduated, the issues reached a point where it was too much. So I left. And never looked back. No one should ever feel like a stranger in their own family.
In the summer of 2000, over the course of some random web-surfing, I was re-united ...Expand for more
with my birth mother. We re-established our relationship, and things worked out very well. I've many many great opportunities to get re-acquainted with the rest of my mother's family (MY family!), and finally felt like I belonged.
So, in 2002, I made the decision to change my name back to my original birth name. In a sense, I guess it's a symbol of my choice to adopt my real family back. So there you have it.
