'82 to Jun '85 when I transferred to the TX Air National Guard to attend college full-time.
After graduation and commissioning as an Air Force officer in 1988, I returned to active duty as a Squadron Executive Officer and Command and Control Officer, participated in Operation DESERT STORM, then transferred to the AF Reserve in 1992.
I held several odd jobs before settling down as a mostly full-time substitute teacher.
In Apr 1996, I met and fell in love with my wife, Cynthia. We married in Sep '96 and in the next two and a half years had two kids, Sean and Erin.
I transferred Reserve units in Oct '96, moving to Oklahoma City, then in Dec '98 transferred again, this time to the Pentagon. In Oct '99, we transferred to Enid, OK, where I took the job as a Squadron Executive Officer.
In 2001, we transferred to Langley AFB, VA when I did a three year return to active duty tour with the 1st Fighter Wing, which is where we were on 9/11. Also while at Langley, we had our third child, Alyssa (Yssa), in 2003.
In 2004, I returned to the Reserve, this time as an Intelligence Officer. I deployed to Southwest Asia in 2005 and was attached to a Joint Task Force that provides DOD assistance to civil authorities in the event of another 9/11-type incident.
In 2007, we transferred to Scott AFB, IL, about 20 miles east of St Louis, MO where we remain today.".
