Brian's Story
Perhaps the biggest surprise at a high school reunion would be for people to know that I finally got married. Yes, it is legal here in Massachusetts. Another surprise might be that I ran my 18th marathon last Fall in Dublin, Ireland. Yet another could be that I expect to complete an Ironman competition when I am 50 years old. Lastly, I have travelled the world and absolutely love it!
The teacher I would love to see again? Certainly 'not' Herr Newman.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was probably smoking pot in the band practice rooms (repeatedly). That might have also been the dumbest thing I ever did.
My first crush got married.
How should old friends remember me? Hopefully as a decent guy and a good friend. Trustworthy and honest.
To be truly happy, I would be living in downtown Boston, running my own financial planning practice, managing rental properties and planning for a secure future; which is exactly what I am doing.

always thought others would have advantages to go on and live very successful lives, much more so than me. The surprise is that life happens in different ways for different people. Success is also measured in different ways.
Given one do-over, I would advance in life by looking forward and going after my dreams (sooner). It took many years to realize I had to stop backing my way towards progress. At the point I turned around and starting aiming for my goals, life became more rewarding.
The weirdest job I ever had.... probably the temp job while in training to become a financial advisor.
Where have I lived? From high school, I moved to Menomonee, WI for 1/2 a freshman year. After that, on to Minneapolis for the remainder of undergraduate. Then on to Waltham and Boston, MA with Land O' Lakes. From there, on to Washington, DC for love. Two months later (and no longer in love) back to Boston. I have remained in Boston and metro area since then (1987). It is home.
