Debbie's Story
I'm scrolling through the questions and came across the following:
What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion?
This is a good question considering I have already surprised some of my friends. It reminds me of a teacher I had for crafts who said that I would end up being a welder when I grew up. Funny how life works out. Oh I know how to weld, but I sure don't do that for a living.
How I ended up where I am is actually funny:
The first thing I did was construction. My theory was that I would have the building experience to compliment my Architectural degree. Well, one thing led to another, and I quickly realized the feast or famine terminology associated with construction. With that I sought out a job ...Expand for more
in manufacturing. Over the years I worked my way into a Mechanical Design Engineering position.
A few years into this career, I noticed the change in business trends where more work was going overseas. With that I went back to school and earned my Bachelors in Software Engineering.
Today, I get to play on computers all the time and get paid for it.
I always feared reunions because I feared that friends would not remember what is real, and focus on career, successes and failures.
For me, my greatest successes have always been the friends I made along the way. After all, without friends, who would we share our successes with? Who would we look to in our darkest moments.
To all of my friends.
May Peace be with you all;
Brian
