Brian's Story
Somewhere in the 90's....
Life:
I'm once divorced i have three beautiful kids. I am recently separated from the ARMY. HOOAH!!! I drive a big rig for a living now and I go bass fishing every chance I get...still in Fayettenam!!! e-mail me all mail welcome!!!!
Update. Sep-2008
Wow where life will take you. Ok Snapshot--I am still divorced... but, I have finally met a woman to restore my faith in the female gender. but that's another story on a different website....
I drove that truck for 16 years, logged over 2 million miles... That's equal to about 94 trips to the moon and back or 30 revolutions around the Earth's equator. (Just in case you were wondering) and then my health started to become a concern. Trucking will do that to ya.
Anyway I missed the Dos era of computer technology, I never took any computer classes in school. The dern things didn't hold any interest for me. I have traveled all over the world with the Army and in a big rig. because that was my dream. Not to remain stuck in Fayetteville, but ya know?I had the best of both worlds. I lived in Fayetteville but I got to see all those other places. My feeling on this is "There's no place like home."
Ok so I played the "Wizard of OZ" cliche there but who cares... Then somewhere around 1993 my now ex brings home a computer. Heh, "Hello Mr. Gates." I complained about the computer the whole time the tech was setting it up... but then, he said, "Here you want to take it for a test spin?" That was all it took.
I was off and running, the danged machines intrigued me so deeply that I had to know all I could learn about the things. Turns out, I have a knack for them.
So I learned alot about them in the coming years until (leap to 2004). I decided to park the big rig for good. While I still had some health left. heh Greasy tr...Expand for more
uck stop cooking will kill ya. I tried to find a new career in "IT". "NO" that was all I heard. I didn't possess the credentials to garner a job in the business. Wow maybe U shouldn't have chosen to put off college for a year before joining the Army. (Uh-huh)
My little sister some of you may remember Gail got her Masters in Criminal Justice and is now the coordinator of "Adult Continuing Education" law enforcement training at FTCC. She talked me into going back to school and well I liked it so much I stayed. I now have an AS in Networking Technology and I hope to continue to my BS as well but, for the time being I am working in the MIS "Management Information Systems" department at FTCC as well.
Who would have ever guessed it, Me a computer Geek! but ya know I Love it, and once again I am doing what I want to do and what I enjoy. "I love my Job!"
Email me if you would like to catch up. "Or" l also sold my bass boat invite me out on your boat!! I love to fish. lol Ok I had to throw that in there.
Peace to the world, that we can all co-exist and rejoice in the realization that we all share the same planet. "Do your part-- Recycle"
Truly yours,
Brian Staley
p.s I would love to get a guest invite to any of the schools I attended so that I catch up with those of you that I had to move away from and haven't seen since. I will pay for the ticket to get in!!! lol
Ciao
