Briana's Story

Life Hello everyone! I finally decided to stop being lazy and write my bio. I married a wonderful guy (whom I dated my sophomore year) in 1997. We have been married happily for almost 9 years now in August. We had our first child, Kaylee in 1999 and she is now 7. She is very smart and very sweet and lovable. Then we had another girl, Kenna in 2001. She is almost 5 now and definately my challenge. But I love her with all my heart anyway. She doesn't get to start kindergarten this year because she misses the cut off date by 19 days. Doesn't that suck? She is more than ready. Oh well. I guess I will get to keep her my little baby one more year. That's not so bad. Since I have been married Dust and I have lived in Laramie (where he went to school), in Texas (by his family) and since 1999 we have lived right here in the great town of Edgemont SD! Such an exciting place to live. (I am being sarcastic.) But really it is not so bad. Dust is closer to work and real estate here is cheap. He works at Jacob's Ranch Coal Mine in Wright, Wy. That has allowed me to be a stay at home mom which is what I have always wanted to be. I finished one year at SDSU but decided marriage was more the life for me. I may finish school one day after my girls are older. I would love to have a couple more children but recently found out that I can't. So I am so blessed with the ones I have. I have Lupus and it has given me a lot of trouble the last two years. Plus I had open heart surgery (because of the Lupus) a year ago and I am just now getting back on my ...Expand for more
feet. But there is no cure for this disease so I am learning to deal with it. It has been a long two years but I feel I have grown up a lot. I am involved in the community theatre here in Edgemont. We do short plays called melodramas and it is really a hoot. The people in the audience get to throw peanuts at the villian and boo and hiss. It has really been a great success. You wouldn't think it could do well here in dinky Edgemont but people come from all over. This is our sixth year. I have met so many people and it is so much fun. I usually play the villianess. (I know, sweet little me?!?) Ha ha. I am also involved in a singing group called Barbed Wire and Roses. There are four of us and we mainly sing old western songs. I really enjoy it. We have made two CD's so far and have actually sold quite a few. We have a bit of money in the bank because we get paid when we sing too. It's great. We are in the process of our 3rd album. Who knows - maybe we will be discovered and someday become famous! What a dream. I really have been terrible at keeping in touch with people. The only people I see on a regular basis are Jody (ofcourse) and Crystal Eggers. She and I have become really good friends which is funny because we never hung out in high school. It's funny how life changes people. I hope all of you out there are happy and healthy and I would love to hear from anybody! Well, that's me and my life. Not too exciting but I am very happy and that's what counts right? Hopefully I will talk to you soon. Take care and all my love! Briana
