In addition to my on-air duties, one of the many fun and rewarding aspects is taking part in fundraising events for a wide variety of area charities and public service organizations. I've emceed charity hundreds of events that do great things for our community, and it's a pleasure to be a part of those, and meet the people who work very hard to organize these events. I began my broadcast career at several radio stations in suburban Chicago before attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. While at SIU, I worked as an evening news anchor, reporter, sports director and news director at WSIU-TV. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television. Upon graduation, I moved to Evansville, Indiana where he co-anchored the weekday evening newscasts on WEHT-TV. I then moved on to become the weekend evening anchor at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I've received numerous honors over the years with first place awards for outstanding coverage of spot news, general news, features and investigative reporting. The Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press have honored me with eight awards. "Indianapolis Monthly Magazine" Readers' Choice Awards named him "Best Early Morning Anchor" four times over a five-year period. My versatility as a field anchor has taken me across the country and overseas. I traveled to London, England for a series of ...Expand for more
reports on groundbreaking medical efforts by Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company. I've covered the presidential campaign of Barack Obama, two national political conventions, a presidential inauguration, several national Consumer Electronics Shows, NCAA Final Fours in New Orleans, Minneapolis and Indianapolis and Major League Baseball annual meetings in Houston, Texas. My community service involvement extends to a wide variety of charitable organizations. I serve as a guest speaker and emcee for public service groups, and have participated at Central Indiana charity golf outings, serving as emcee and celebrity golfer. Other events include supporting Little Sisters of the Poor, Visiting Nurse Service, Hendricks County United Way, Indiana Sports Corporation, and the Boys & Girls Club. For five years, I helped organize the "Little Red Door Open" charity golf event. The event helped raise nearly $100,000 for the Little Red Door Cancer Agency in Indianapolis. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where I majored in Radio-TV/Journalism. My hometown is Northlake, Illinois in the western suburbs of Chicago. My wife & I have two sons. Among my favorite recreational pursuits, are golf, water-skiing, and snow skiing and finding effective ways to keep our beagle from chewing up valuables around the house. While I love watching the Colts, Pacers, and local college teams, my early hours are perfect for enjoying English Premier League soccer and Manchester United. Soccer is growing in popularity in the U.S. The Indy Eleven are well-established in the NASL and now we have the opportunity to watch their games with sellout crowds of 10,000. It's been a privilege to work alongside some of the finest journalists in our craft. Many thanks to all the viewers who have watched us over the years!".
