Bryan's Story
Life
Hey everyone! A brief catch-up on where I have been and what I have been doing over the years.... After attending BCIT for Drafting, I worked inthe field only for a year before realizing I am too much of a people person than a desk-job type so I went back to school. Starting out at Douglas College then transferring to SFU, I completed my BA in 6 years or so (I just couldn't stop talking courses!) finally earning a Geography major, Psychology extended minor, Educational Psychology minor and anothe mino in Environmental Education. From there I went through UBC for my Bachelors of Education degree, doping my practicum in Castlegar in the Kootenays... what a beautiful area.
I then started out my teaching career in Vernon where my sister resides as well. After 4.5 years there I needed a change so a friend and I moved down to Culiacan, Mexico and opened a school (Ideal English) out of our house. It was awesome! In the summer we also created a summer daycamp (Ideal Summer...Expand for more
) and recruited other Canadian college kids to work them. Even though this was an incredible experience, I missed my family in BC and new my career as a teacher wouldn't truly be satisfied living down there forever. I then applied for my dream teaching position at a Jr Secondary up in Fort St John and got it! I was hired primarily as the Woodwork teacher, but also taught a block of Math 8, Math 9, and English 9. My first year is completed there and I am sure this will now be my home.
Unfortunately with all of my moving around over the years, I have never gotten married yet so hopefully as I plan to stay up in FSJ now, this part of my life will fold out now. I created a website a few years back when I was teaching senior computers and drafting in Vernon so feel free to check it out.. I will try to start updating it again: barranti dot com.
