Bud's Story

Hi Folks, It has been a long time, but truthfully it sometimes seem like just yesterday. As some of you know, I left Santa Cruz County 10 ten days after I reached the old age of 17 and joined the Navy. 21 years later I retired as a Senior Chief Sonar Technician. After 7 years as a defense Contractor, I went back to serve in the Navy again, but this time as an engineer Technician. The pay was a lot better and I did not have to wear a uniform. I retired from Civil Service in 1990 as a GS’ 12, Electronic Technical Engineer. After retiring, my wife and I sold our home in Bremerton Washington. We then bought a 36 foot long fifth wheeler and visited every state in the union. In addition we traveled to Australia and New Zealand, the British Iles and Western Europe. We also went on a cruise to...Expand for more
the Caribbean and another one to Alaska. Getting tired of traveling, we bought a home in Lebanon Missouri. This was very near Branson Missouri. After five and a half years in the mid-west we decided to follow the sunset again. We dropped anchor in Tucson AZ. That is where I live at this time. You might say the end of the trail. My soul mate of 44 years went to heaven 2 years ago. We were blessed with 7 children, 18 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In my Leisure time I tried doing some writing. I have written 4 books that have been published. They are “the Bouncing White Light”, “Grandpa Campfire Stories”, “A far Piece To Travel” and “The Hidden Gold of Mu”. Arizona is where the military stores their old war planes. They also store some of us old warriors.
