Bud's Story

Life Currently attending Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, as a full-time student (Organizational Leadership). Previously served as Associate Pastor for Worship and Administration at First Emmanuel Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. Worked closely with the Senior Pastor to facilitate the church’s strategic plan of action with milestones in this multi-cultural congregation that consists of a high percentage of youth. Directed and developed the church’s 10-piece orchestra/band and broadened the Praise Team’s and congregation’s musical experience from primarily Praise & Worship music to include traditional, classical, spiritual, and Southern Gospel genres. Developed the outreach team and led in regular literature distribution efforts that directly resulted in attracting new visitors and members. Married to the former Melanie L. Decrepito of Angeles City, Philippines. Melanie serves on the Board of Directors of the Philippines Deaf Training Center, a Christian Mission that teaches Deaf students Chronological Bible Storying along with church planting and leadership techniques. She previously served there as a Sign Language Interpreter and as Office Manager. She holds a BS in Psychology from West Negros College in Bacolod City. We are the proud parents of Emmanuel Jireh (EJ), age 11 and Titus (Ty) age 2. Workplace Until the middle of 2007, I served as the Vice President of Operations with a real estate concern in St. Charles, Missouri. Real Estate Broker Associate (Broker / Company Officer) License. Developed sales and marketing strategies and was instrumental in the recruitment, selection, examination preparation, and professional development of licensees. Developed and implemented policy and procedures. GRI and TRC certified. For a time, I served as a Sales manager and as an account representative for a regional, business-to-business product and service provider. ail pieces followed by tele-marketing and in-person follow-up. These efforts resulted in an unexpected new client base. Developed professional relationships that resulted in a significant number of repeat sales, ultimately leading the company in gross profit by a wide margin during a recent fiscal year. Before that, I managed a project (P&L) that is helping to facilitate both a change of core values and the application of learning organization techniques within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The team assembled for this endeavor developed and effectively led multiple needs assessments and weeklong workshops. These efforts directly resulted in positive business process re-engineering in all of the client teams served. Personally led highly effective workshops in USAID Regional Offices and Missions in Kenya, El Salvador, South Africa, Mozambique, and Bulgaria and for the ENI Bureau in Washington, DC. Called back to provide “just-in-time” needs assessments and process facilitation of challenging situations for USAID Missions in South Africa and Bulgaria. Also provided Project Management Training to the US Internal Revenue Service. Military Process consultant, lead instructor, and curriculum developer for the Navy's accredited, graduate level, Organization Effectiveness (OE) course. Cited in this course of instruction as an outstanding instructor and process facilitator, demonstrating expertise in the areas of organization culture, systems, theory, and change; individual evaluation, including communication skills; and group evaluation, including team building and conflict resolution. Co-developed a comprehensive layout of the entire OE course and was instrumental in researching and developing major portions of curriculum. Nuclear Machinery Division’s Leading Petty Officer, Command Duty Officer, and/or Engineering Watch Supervisor on 3 operating submarines. Curriculum developer and final instructional systems design process reviewer for all curriculums for the SEAWOLF Submarine Program's Training Systems Implementation Team.
