byron's Story
After graduating in 73, joined the Navy and spent my time as a marine diesel mechanic/air condition/refridgeration and a combat certified crew member/coxswain on river patrol boats. Spent time in Illinois,California,Phillippines,Japan and Okinawa. From 79-93 I worked for the D.O.D. at Keyport as a torpedo mechanic, ordanance inspector and logistics management specialist. During those years I got married, we had two boys, graduated from Olympic College, got my first Harley-Davidson, a divorce and took an early retirement in 93. Union, got my CDL in 96 and started hauling heavy equipment ie...bulldozers,backhoes,etc...and Semi-tractor trailer rigs up and down I-5. In 2003 got married again. 2004 started working at Kitsap Transit as an ACCESS operator, sorta like the short buses in high school, only older. Have been driver of the month three times and driver of the year for 2008. My boys are now 33 and 31, no grandchildren yet,but, do have 1 step grand daughter ( I"m her G-pops). On my fourth Harley, just part of who I am now!!! Lookin forward to retirement in a few years, but hard to fathom, ALREADY? No way can i be this old.....................................
