Calvin's Story
I was born in Chulahoma, MS and lived there until completion of High School in 1981. Shortly after, I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In February of 1982, I joined the United States Army and served on active duty until retiring in December 2007.
During my tenure, I was stationed in Kentucky, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Germany, New York, Alaska and Mississippi. Additionally, I served on official duty in Korea, Thailand, Panama, Jordan and Guam. From February 2006 until June 2007, I served in combat (Afghanistan) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

I instruct basic computer skills at the Holly Springs Regional Technology Center. I was recently elected as Alderman for ward-Two in the city of holly Springs, Mississippi on May 19, 2009.
My educational background includes an Associate in Science/Applied Science (Criminal Justice/Individual Studies); a Bachelor in Emergency/Disaster Preparedness and Response Management and confers an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor in Sciences (Public Safety Management) with expected graduation date of August 2010.
I am married to the former Ms. Rita Hernandez and we have four children: Alicia, 30, Birmingham, AL; Charita, 24, Washington D.C. (Capitol Hill); Catrice, 22, University of Tennessee (Knox), and Calvin Jr., 15, Holly Springs, MS.
