Cameron's Story
Life
Let's see. Got out of high school, ('77) worked here and there, went North-West to the Yukon in 1980.
Worked in an open-pit lead-zinc mine as a labourer, and operations in the mill. Got married. Drove 120 ton WABCO haul truck for a year. Got fat and lazy. Went back to the mill. Mine shut down. First son born.
Moved back to Scarberia. (Say what?)
Moved to Misserabl-sauga. Got "B" licence. Hauled mail. (No money - quit).
Worked for a courier driving everything from cars to tandem trucks. Second son born. Courier went bankrupt! (See a pattern here?)
Obtained Class AB licence. Bought highway tractor with job. Job sucked, no work. Engine blew up in Vermont. Fixed truck. Worked it in Toronto area until it fell apart. Sold truck.
Moved to Barrie area. Bought a house. Worked for...Expand for more
landscaping company. Laid off for winter (again), said the hell with that.
Got a job hauling garbage (Good money) and sewage. (Boring) I Quit.
Hauled automotive carpets to Michigan. Company was bought by Schneider after it filed "Chapter 11" in the U.S. Schneider offered me less than half of my pay to keep working. I left. Duh.
Went back to garbage. Company went Union. I left. Company laid off remaining workers after 9 months and shut down. (No more kids!)
Have I bored you yet?
Found a job with a small company hauling mail. No work after Christmas rush. Hauled cardboard boxes. Drove me up the wall. Quit.
Went back to mail. Sold house, bought new one. Kids moved out. Four grandkids were born. One more on the way!
Still hauling mail.
So, what's up with you?
