Candice's Story
Life
I've moved around a lot during my life. I started school in Vegas. In 1994 I moved to Oregon with my father, Charlie. One year later on February 14th I moved to Utah to live with my mom, Janice. I don't remember going to school much before college. I dropped out of high school my 11th year. I got married on 12/22/1999 when I was seventeen. I got my GED in June of 2000. I had my daughter Tatiana Yvonne Lemus on 7/13/2000 in Mt. Pleasant, UT. I have been taking care of my sister's two daughters since they were just babies. Now I am a graduate of Snow College. I have a full time administrative assistant position at a construction company and I also teach ESL for Snow College. My family unit consists of my daughter Tatiana, my nieces Felisha and Kayla, and myself. I got divorced in April of 2007. My girls are my life. Felisha is about to turn ten and she is making me feel old. Kayla is almost eight and Tatiana is almost seven. I will have my hands full when these girls hit puberty. I like to go dancing at the clubs. I drink on occasion, but I know when to stop. I don't smoke, the smell makes me sick. I don't particularly like my appearance, but at times I can seem to be confident. I used to be introverted and pessimistic, but I have changed a lot. I am now outgoing and I plan for the future. At times I can be optimistic. I used to let a scale decide if I was good enough. I have lost thirty pounds since I graduated college. I feel good about myself, but I am still working on my selfesteem. I still feel as though I am the same little girl I was in kindergarten.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, I love being an ESL Instructor.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Harley Skinner, because he was my first love. Or my first secret admirer, Orlando, from Las Vegas, NV. He used to stick notes into my locker in sixth grade, we meet in 3rd grade.
My best friend would tell you I'm outgoing, funny, and crazy. People who don't know me very well would probably describe me as shy and distant.
