After high school, I attended Concordia College in Moorhead and graduated in 1993 with a double major in Psychology and Communications. Then headed out east to attend Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. I met John during my first semester at Gallaudet and were engaged by the following spring. I transferred after one year at Gallaudet to Howard University and changed focus from Clinical Psychology to Social Work. John and I were married in Fargo in December of 1995 and I completed my MSW the following spring. John's job then took us to Memphis, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee, each for a year. Ashley was born in Memphis while we were there in 1997.
