Carin's Story
Life
I have 3 dogs; (M)Dallas, a Golden Lab/10 yrs old, (M)Remus and (M)Romulas, Yorkshire Terriors/11 wks old. I also have 3 kittens,
(F)MeoMeo, (F)Thunder and (M)Nemo (They belong to my kids).
School
Okay, now where do I begin? I started out going to W.E. Cherry Elementary from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. I still remember some classmates from those years, but have not kept in touch with any of them since I moved going in to the 4th grade. Then I was at S.Bryan Jennings. From what I recall, hmm, what do I recall? A few names who's faces I would probably never recognize now. I was there thru 4th and 5th grade. Then, Middle School, because of where I lived, I had to go to Lakeside Middle, when most of my elementary school friends went to Orange Park Middle. I was only there for the 6th grade, made some good friends, then a new school was built, Ridgeview Jr High. I went there for the 7th grade, got in to a lot of trouble then moved to live with my father in Jacksonville for the 8th grade, and went to John Gorrie Jr. High. Then for the 9th grade, I came back to live with my mom and went to Middleburg High School. But I'm not done yet...after the 9th grade, my grades were real bad, I hated school, teachers, everything and everyone that tried to tell me what to do. Hmmm, sound familiar to anyone else? So, the next year, instead of going to Middleburg, I finished the 9th grade in Green Cove Springs, yeah, the school for want to be drop-outs, that was me! Well, I completed the 9th grade there, when most of my class was in the 10th grade. Once I came back to Middleburg the following year, some mix up happened with my transcript, it was lost, and I had to re-register for Middleburg High, then when I found out they wanted to place me back in to the 9th grade, I freaked out!, Called Mr. May every name in the book, walked out and never went back! I promised myself I would finish high school the same year my class did, in 1989, and I did. I took night classes in Jacksonville, at Ed White High School, tested for graduation and passed with high scores. surprised, I see a lot of names here that I, myself, do not recognize. However, for those of you that do know me, then you should not be a bit surprised at what you have read here! I hope this sees all you well, and I hope to hear from my classmates!
College
This is one thing I have always promised myself I would complete and have yet to do. I began going to FCCJ in 1990 after completing my high school diploma. Then, in 1991 I was married to Gene Berry and our first son was born, soon after, in 1992, our second son was born. We went through ups and downs and were separated in the middle of 1993 and divorced at the end of 1993. During the separation I met my present husband, David. We have also had ups and downs, but nothing like with my first husband. We were living together for 8 years before we were married in 2001. We had 4 children together, Casydi, our oldest is 10, Thomas is 8, Lauryn is 7, and Brett is 4.
My ex-husband died in 2003 from a drug overdose/suicide. The boys, Justin and Jason, are still with me and are now 15 and 13 yrs old respectively.
For those of you that knew me, you know I grew up in Orange Park almost my entire life, except for the one year I lived in Jacksonville. I now live in Middleburg, off of 215. (That's the road that veers off to the small lakes/swimmin' holes at Camp Blanding).
Anyway, back to the Bio...hehe, my mind still wanders. I am starting at ITT Tech this September for computer aided drafting and design. I am later wanting to do architectural design and drafting.
During the years I have been a stay home mom. Although I have worked here and there when I wanted to. I was doing Home Health Care, for Hospice from 93-96. And in 2000 I went to Roadmasters to learn to drive a semi-truck. I then drove for a small company hauling dirt and gravel from pick up site to coonstruction site, ect..ect..
I quit that job to become a stay home mom again after a few months. I have pretty much done everything I have wanted to do, give or take here and there. What else would you expect of me? I have put off giong back to school for a long time though, and hopefully in the next couple of years I will be able to write in here that I have completed that also!
