TeenJOY âReal Men Standing up for Kids âMentoring program; is striving to make a difference in lives of young kids living in crime-ravaged neighborhoods of the New Orleans Metropolitan area. Many people in our society believe the lack of presence by a positive father in the lives of some youth contribute directly to social problems we witness everyday. The lack of male leadership in some households is a major force behind teenage crime, sex, pregnancy, poor academic performance, depression, substance abuse and a number of the social concerns.
When children interact regularly with adults are less likely to begin using drugs, less likely to begin using alcohol, and less likely to skip school.â In addition, there is a decrease in crime and teenage pregnancy. Family tragedy, divorce, and financial problems can leave a child lonely and longing for adult support. The actions of many of todayâs you demonstrates the necessity for youth mentoring programs. These programs provide companionship and guidance to the at-risk youth. They need help with school work, social development, and unwavering encouragement. .

owner of a promotional company called JOY which means âJesus 1st, Others 2nd and Yourself last.â Iâm also the publisher of MOVE4 magazine. Itâs a believerâs publication designed to uplift the Naw'Lins community through our Lord and Savior. We showcase believers and supporters that have proven that they are more than just survivors. I have assembled a team of humble and persistent Christian men from all religious denominations who are moving for a purpose and are willing to step up to make a difference in the lives struggling youth in our city.
Our goal is to change the lives of the youth in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area one child at a time. The youth will be guided by caring role models that will help them improve academic performance, decision-making skills and self-confidence. The youth in our program will learn to develop better relationships with their parents, teachers, and peers. Our mentors will help them set goals, solve problems, and make good choices. Our mentors are not taking the place of parents; they are positive role models for at-risk youth. TeenJOY is designed to effect positive change in the lives of youth.
Teenagers want to do positive and productive things they just need encouragement and support. They are open to living according to the Lord will, they just need guidance. TeenJOY targets male youth come from various social and economic backgrounds in need of a positive male influence. We expose the youth to different cultural/social activities i.e. as feeding the homeless, fishing and camping trips, the symphony, museums and various other activities. TeenJOY is a non-profit program that exist solely on the generosity of others. We need your prayers and your financial support. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to this worthy cause. Help us change lives one youth at a time. Adults have to take a stand and make a difference, we have to be the change we want to see. Letâs stand together right now and show this LOST generation that we care about them as much as we care about the New Orleans Saints. They are lost because of us!".
