Carl's Story

Life My first wife died at the age of 35 from cancer. I have 2 great kids from the marriage. My daughter is a math teacher and my son is studying computer animation. I remarried in 1991 to an international food and drug lawyer. We are temporaly living in Belgium where she is developing her european practice. We live in the Washington, DC area. She has two kids from her late hushand's marriage. We are both retired and spend a lot of time traveling. loping metal detection technology for landmines and unexploded ordnance and other sensor systems for national defense. Recent work before retirement was on Homeland Security Technology. I have 22 patents and numerous scientific publications. Prior to this current work, I spent 20 years developing and fielding oceanographic sensor systems for the US Navy. I have won invention of the year for JHU/APL twice. My office of technology tranfer is currently trying to commercialize some of my inventions. A have been an advisor for the US Gov on mine and UXO detection technologies.
