Carla's Story
I was a teacher at Argyle Elementary School in the early 70's not a student. I stayed at Argyle for 4 years and those were my happiest years of teaching. I guess because I was young with lots of energy and the students were so special.When I left Argyle and Georgia I traveled Europe and the Orient. I finished my traveling in December of 1974.When I returned I went to work for our mayor, Russell C. Davis and during that time I met my husband, Barry/ We were married in 1975 and I continued to work until our first child , Parker, was born in 1978, I was a stay at home Mom and in 1983 we had o ur second son, Hunter. When Hunter was in the third graand Parker was in the 7th I returned to teaching. I taught full time until 2007. I then began part time teaching and taught history and math to 7th and 8th graders. Our sons are 32 and 28 respectively. Parker works at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegan . He majored in English and history. Hunter lives in Murphreesborough , TN . He works in the recrding industry. He graduated from MTSU and he worked in Nashville, TN until April at which time he got laid off from his job. He is married to April Kennedy Camp. She is wonderful and we are blessed to have her in our family. Parker is not married . I think he is having to much fun right now to settle down.
My husband, Barry, is a writer and he still works everyday. He works for the Department of Development Assistance in Jackson. We have two Bassett Hounds, Mr. Henry and Savannah Jane Camp. They are adorable and we would be very lonesome without them
I recently had a reunion with some of my Argyle students. Theee are in their fifties now and they are very precious to me. I had not seen some of them for 40 years. Carla Barnes Camp
