Carmalee's Story
Life
My husband Rick and I have lived in NC for over 20 years. We have a 20 year old son who is in college. I am a Transit Planner for the City of Raleigh.
Our family is very involved with Youth for Understanding, a high school exchange student organization. We have hosted kids from Mexico, China, Germany, Poland and Korea for a school year and several others for shorter periods of time. In 2007-2008 my mom hosted a Chinese boy and he went to SVHS where he had a great experience! o serve on our county Transportation Advisory Board, the board of Let's Get to Work, an organization that helps people overcome barriers to employment and am the Grants Manager for Reef Stewardship Foundation.
I was in a wreck with a drunk driver in 2003 and have to walk with crutches so I have had to give up the many of the active hobbies I enjoyed.
I still play the flute on the music team at our church and occasionally with other groups. I have a couple of saltwater aquariums and am a moderator on a reef aquarium forum.
I could care less about most video games but I love playing with our Wii. This year we got Wii Fit and it is loads of fun!
