Carol's Story

Here are some really great moments in my life that I'd like to share. After High School, Jackie Worth and I shared an apartment while we both worked at McDonald's...those were the good old days!!! Virginia Slims cured both of us from ever smoking...LOL The love of working and being independed served me well...as I went on to college then into the professional medical field of Pharmacy. Which I worked at for just over 25 years before retiring in 2003. During those years I raised a family, became a pretty good fishing and camping woman...with dreams of always wanting that cabin in the middle of the woods. I competed all over the state of Washington as a Archery 3-D, no sights, no releases shooter. I have several trophy's out in the garage. I just recently have taken my bow out of retirement, wiped it off and have gotten a bow for my grandson. It's time for another adventure in both of our lives. I'm going to show him how the Indains did it back in the day. Hopefully he will enjoy Archery as much as his grandma did and does. I became an Aunt 4 times before I ever became a mother. I became a mother on October 1, 1979 at 10:51 a.m. to a beautiful baby boy...the love of my life! My son and his wife have made me a proud grandma to 4 extremely beautiful and wonderful grandchildren. On Feb. 9, 2007, I learned that children are angels sent to teach us valuable lessons in life. My grandson, just barely 4 years old had brain surgery to remove a tumor the size of a small orange. He is now in 2nd grade, so smart and talented and such a loving soul. Still carrying part of the tumor that the surgeons couldn't get too. And even though he is on medications and shots for the rest of his life...I have come to realize that he has so much strenght and trust and wisdom... for which has taught me to love a little deeper, care a lot more and listen a little closer. ...Expand for more
I call him, "My Angel Boy." I have many friends very near and dear to me and I'm very lucky to still have my parents alive and doing pretty darn well for their ages. My brothers are happily married, my sisters have raised families and like me have several grandchildren of their own. I enjoy gardening, road trips, some hiking and of course the great outdoors! Music moves my soul...I love it all. Well, almost all of it. Not much into hip-hop or heavy metal. As a little girl I was sure that I would grow up to be a singer, song writer, playing a guitar and maybe even a Classical Ballet dancer. Ok, I have a guitar, I sing along to all of my favorite songs and soon, very soon I'm going to take some dancing lessons for the fun of it. I've written a couple songs...just have never really done anything with them...yet! LOL I enjoy doing crafts with my grandchildren, reading...my favorite author is Nicholas Sparks. Movies old and new...my favorite, "Dirty Dancing." I love sitting around a campfire either roasting marshmallows or just relaxing with a glass of wine. Long walks on the beach always looking for the wonderful treasures that wash ashore. I enjoy garage sales, yard sales and antique store. I like taking walks in the evenings when the stars are out. Movie night with the kids...we pick a good family movie, pop some popcorn and for about an hour and a half we are entertained with the lastest movie. These are very special times for me because each of my grandchildren want to be as close to me as they can get...and that is such a wonderful feeling! I have lost a child, have married twice and at this time in my life...I live alone with the hope still of wanting that special relationship with a man who enjoys life and laughter and the great unknown! Thanks for letting me share my story with you...I hope you enjoyed it. Take care and God Bless.
