Carol's Story

My name is Carol Fayant. I am Metis. I live alone, not in any relationship. I guess I'm fussy, or getting too old. I hope I am not remembered as a thorn in the side. Better to not remember at all then. (smile) I have 3 chidren, my oldest, Joella is married and is here in the Hat. She and Nelson have 2 children. My other 2 are in Van. A son, Clayton and a 17 year old daughter, Ariel, who lives with her dad. I am un-employed, on CPP. Oh yah, I'm 55 years young. : ) I always wanted to be a hippy when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a foolish idea. As it turns out, they were right.. I relax to music, a good book or a nice long walk. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have tranportation, city areas, and peace to be able to deal with the day-to-day. A hero? No, not really. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Marilyn Garriott, because she is a great friend.. Shopping, So, you think you can dance, football, cats,obsession..appearance. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my furniture and add on a jacuzi. My dream home would be a one bedroom house filled with lots of friends and visitors.. Creativity, honesty, how to play and enjoy it. If I won $100 million, I'd give 5000.00 of it to my kids in Van, then spend the rest on family, buy a house and a car.. No! My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and boring. I was so completely wrong.. I have none. I am retired. I always wanted to be an RN. My best friend would tell you I'm sincere, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a snob.. Nope! I like to wear clothes that are timeless. Following the styles is too expensive and changes so often. I always wanted to be a social worker when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were disapointed cause it never happened. I ended up in the medical field.. To blow off steam I go for a fast walk and don't come back till I am at peace with myself. As for relaxing, I have several hobbies, reading, doing puzzles, yes, I said puzzles, listen to inspirational music, have a cup of my favorite tea, phone friends, smoke. If I ever did anything wild, I certainly wouldn't tell. My secret. : ) I have lived in Dauphin, Manitoba, Winnipeg, Medicine Hat, Penhold, Red Deer, Lacombe, Victoria and Sooke. I moved from Sooke, BC back to the Hat for medical reasons. I love cats, clothes, jewellery, money, traveling, although I haven't had a holiday in many years. My biggest surprise was finding out that my dad's indescretion cause a child who was adopted. I have a 1/2 sister that I have never met. I have a pict...Expand for more
ure of her family but don't display it. I've learned from my kids to not meddle in their lives and to still love them, inspite of their choices. I would love to see my grade 12 biology teacher from McCoy cause he was a great and patient teacher who never yelled or critized his class. He was supportive, easy to talk to and an all around nice person. The sad part, I can't re-call his name. When I was in Wpg. I went to a Catholic convent and I lived in a dorm there. To be truly happy, which is a state that can fluctuate, I would want to be content in the state I find myself in. My 1st. crush of 3 years went to University in Edmonton. We don't see each other. He is an eye surgeon. My dressing style is chique. I buy items of quality that stand the test of time. ALL are natural fabric, silk, linen, wool, cotton and colors that compliment my complection. The only thing I will never, hopefully, stop wearing is jeans.. lots of jeans. The weirdest job I ever had was engraving trophies. That didn't last long...I can't sit for 8 hours and do the same thing over and over. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have transportation,, suitable clothes and be well groomed, and learn to cope to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Marilyn Garriot, because we are very close friends, almost like sisters.. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to my favorite charities, then spend the rest on traveling, buying life insurance and investments. I share my home with no-one, which I find lonely sometimes but I can come and go as I please without having to report to someone. Even if I had trophies, I have no mantel to put them on. I did win "basement champ" pin for bowling. If I attended a school re-union I think people would be surprized at my hair and my character. Also, that I didn't have a date to bring. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by continuing with a healthy life-style.. My first job was at my parent's hotel, where I got paid 10.00 a room to clean and change and wash and mangle the sheets and pillow cases. What I remember most about it is my mom held back 1/2 and I was able to purchase contact lenses.. To be frank, I didn't have a childhood. I had to grow up too fast. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were gone and I never became a nurse.. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a sensible idea. As it turns out, they were not very suportive about me having to leave the nest.. I relax with a good book, steam requires a swift, lengthy walk.
