Carol's Story
Life
I didn't wind up doing any of those things I thought I might -- such a suprise, huh? I've got a son, who is now married (with no kids) and living in Los Angeles;my marriage didn't work. I've been working for Social Security for almost 30 years and, for fun, I sing a lot -- in a chorus, in a small group that performs at retirement homes, in my shower. Still read a lot, too.
As an update, I retired from that job on June 20, 2005. Wheee!
College
I got a BA...Expand for more
in something called Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Illinois -- had a great time, became extremely political -- was active in the Young Democrats (and shook JFK's hand when he came there in 1960), which rather morphed into the brand-new SDS -- long before it became ugly and violent, I hasten to add. Besides studying and politics, I was pretty active in the Illini Folk Arts Society and the Illini Folk Dancing Club -- singing and dancing. Great fun!
