Carolyn's Story
My personal life has been one of great learning experiences and exploration. I was born and raised in a small industrial town in Virginia. By the time I graduated from college at the age of 20, I was married and pregnant. My daughter, Michele, was born in my hometown of Waynesboro.
I was married to Michele's father for 7 years and during that time we moved to Tucson, Arizona. It took two more marriages and divorces before I found my wonderful husband, Richard. We have been together for almost 11 years and we have the martial relationship that I always knew was possible. Richard brought two amazing step daughters into my life, Lisette and Erika Sutherland. . Richard and I both are retired.
I have been a spiritual seeker since i was in my late 20's and this path was precipitated by the pain from my first divorce. I have done extensive self improvement work as well as spiritual exploration through the years. I have done a number of different types of therapy to include Gestalt, Imago, Psychotherapy, EFT, biofeedback and craniosacral plus extensive dream analysis. I did a spiritual journey in Europe with Norma Milanovich in 1999 and I became a Reike Master that same year. I have worked with essential oils, Bach flower remedies, many supplements, and homeopathy. I have read extensively on numerous spi...Expand for more
ritual and metaphysical topics and studied the Course in Miracles as well as astrology. Meditation has been an important part of my life for over 25 years and I also did an extensive number of Landmark Education classes. This past year I studied with Betsy Morgan Coffman to learn to do professional channeled readings and I now have a small home business.
Professionally I worked as a registered nurse for 41 years and during my career I was licensed in Virginia, Arizona, Washington, South Dakota, and Colorado. My years as a nurse included working for the VA health care system, the State of Virginia, the State of Arizona and the State of Colorado plus a number of private companies. I worked in nursing management for over 20 years and for approximately 9 years I was a nurse practitioner. I retired three years ago from the Colorado Department of Corrections after 11 years as the Chief of Nursing and then Chief of Clinical Services (Operations).
Since I retired, I have had the opportunity to travel more with my husband. I also enjoy gardening in the summer and my husband and I do volunteer gardening projects in our townhouse complex. I have had a personal trainer for the past three and I enjoy weight training and cardio in the gym three days per week and walking 4 to 5 miles a couple of days per week.
