Carolyn Thompson:  

Carolyn's schools include: I Graduated in 1982 from Lafayette Jefferson High School, attended Fort. Wayne Bible College.1982-83 school year. From 1983 to 1986 I worked in my home area as a Preschool Teacher's Aide in a Local Day Care Center. As well as a Cashier during the evenings at Payless Grocery Store. Since 2000 it's now known as Payless - Krogers. My Husband works at the West Lafayette store for 30 years. He has held a variety of positions there too!!! . Anyway, I returned to FWBC in the summer of '86 worked on summer work crew in the grounds and mowed a lot of lawns and maintenance work. I then became the maintenance Secretary for Eddie Reynolds that fall of '86 and was the maintenance secretary for the remainder of my academic time there!!! After completing some course through correspondence I graduated in 1988. I lived in Ft. Wayne for a year, then returned to Lafayette - West Lafayette, Indiana in 1989. I've worked as a Preschool Teacher for 20 + years at different Centers. The most rewarding was at Wabash Center. I learned to teach Children with special needs! I finally felt like I was using the Degree in Early Childhood Education from FWBC there the 10 years I worked for them. . In 2005, I jokingly stated that I finally GRADUATED from PRESCHOOL and made it to the BIG TEN PURDUE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS as I became a Custodian in the Buildings and Grounds Dept. for 3 1/2 years. I worked in Smith Hall the Entomology Dept and Animal Science Dept. I enjoyed learning from the Students, Staff, and Faculty while employed at Purdue University! :) We had moved so Purdue was closer to our Home and I was ready for a job change after 20 + plus + years of working in various Day Care Centers. In 2009 another change came unexpectedly, more info on this later. I met my Husband Jeff Thompson in 1990 we dated in 1991 and were Married on July 18th, 1992 We were blessed with our Son, Stephen D.
