Caryn's Story
I got married to Bill Wilhelm in March 1983 and then I graduated in June. We were married 26 great years and have two wonderful children. A boy and a girl. We moved to Southern Utah in 1993 and opened our own transmission shop. We had a successful business for 16 years. We have been active in our church and community. We've had a great life together and enjoyed many friends and a close family.
Bill passed away on 4-10-09 of cancer. The day after his funeral, I became a grandma for the first time. My daughter, Cambria Marie Conlin, had the most gorgeous little girl imaginable, Mahlee Jane. My daughter has been married for four years and I love my son-in-law, Jared.
My son, Bill Jr., graduated from college in 2008 and lives at home. He helped his parents run the business while we dealt with cancer surgery and treatments. He helped me close the business and then started working for a local company using his college degree, computer and artistic talents. Bill Jr. got a degree i...Expand for more
n Computer Animation. He's good company and a great son. Cambria and Jared live here by me, work and attend college at Southern Utah University. They work so hard they hardly have a moment to themselves. They're great parents, provide their little family with a nice home close to Grandma's and are working for a bright future.
My major in college was English with a creative writing emphasis and an art minor. I still have a few classes to take to finish a bachelor's, but life got in the way. I'm working on it through independent study courses from BYU. I'm babysitting my granddaughter daily (this delights me) & write political opinion pieces, poetry and fiction when I have the time.
I don't have a clue what the future holds. I thought my life was all set, with a happy marriage, a grown family, etc. I'd advise anyone who reads this to never take the good things and the people in your life for granted. Play with your kids. Love your spouse. Enjoy every day for the gift that it is.
