Catherine's Story
After graduation, I went to Grossmont and got a degree in Administration of Justice. Then went to SDSU and got a BS in Criminal Justice Administration. I wanted to be a probation officer and then go to law school but the probation field changed so I just went to work for lawyers and went to Western State University for a law degree. I became licensed in 1991 and have had my own practice since that time. I do mainly family law (custody, support, divorces) but also do guardianships and adoptions. I sit on the Small Claims bench as a volunteer Judge and have done it since 1996. It is quite fun to listen to everyone's stories - I cannot insult them like Judge Judy. I also act as a Settlement Conference Judge in Family Court and find it interesting to help people settle their cases. I was going to become a Judge but did not want anyone telling me what types of cases to hear (I really like being my own boss). My office website is tancredilawoffice.com.

o high school (in OB) with my old office partner and she sort of hooked us up. At the time, he was going through a divorce and had four kids but I figured, what the heck, I wasn't going to marry him. Well, eat my words because I married him a year to the date we met! He is a chiropractor and has an office in San Diego. His four sons came to live with us full time in 2001 and that year I had our son, Stephen. After 911, I could not bear to leave him with daycare so I closed my office. I had our second son Daniel in 2003. I eventually went back to work part time in 2005 and will go back 3/4 time when Danny goes to Kindergarten in 9-08.
In my spare time (what spare time!), I enjoy reading, collecting Barbies (I know but I gotta do something 'girlie' amidst all the testosterone) and playing video games that are challenging.
I cannot believe that it has been almost 30 years since we left PHHS and I have had fun representing some folks who went to school and now their kids go there! I still feel young and hope the body can keep up with all I want to do.
