My three years at Paschal were definitely the happiest time in my life. I think of those years every day. After Paschal, I went to school forever. None of it was enjoyable, but I loved my residency at Scott & White in Temple. I ended up with a medical specialty in Internal Medicine. I am currently in private practice with my husband, Murray Colgin, also an Internist, in Kerrville, TX. There have been some big surprises in my life. When I first finished residency, I became a prison doctor with TDCJ. For the first two years, I worked with maximum security women in the Gatesville area. Then I was promoted and became the medical director of the Hughes Unit, a huge maximum security men's unit where I worked for 4 years. Surprisingly, this job had some extremely interesting aspects. I did a great deal of Federal Court work defending the State of Texas. That was interesting and lots of fun. After that I worked in clinics in Waco and then in Fort Worth for 8 years. I just moved to Kerrville a little over one year ago and hope to return to Fort Worth in the future. It will always be my home. My great loves are animals and travel. I love all kinds of animals and do as much rescue and charitable work as I possibly can for them. My special fondness is for Cairn Terriers.
