Chad's Story
I went to Toms River through elementary and junior high school, but went on to the Hill School in Pottstown PA and graduated in 1965. From there, I went to Drew University, the University of Brussels, returned home, and graduated from Rider College. I went on to Monmouth University and received my MBA. I am currently living in Manasquan, near the beach, about 15 miles north of Toms River.
Professionally, I set up the first full time Health Department for Western Monmouth County and was administrator until I was fortunate to be able to retire early at the age of 53. Now everyday is a Saturday and am now just having alot of fun.
I have always loved sailing and power boats. For my second career after retiring, I got my Captain's License and now enjoy delivering yachts in the 40 to 60 foot range. I also teach power and sailboat handling to people just getting started. It never ceases to amaze me how many people get their first boats later in life and start with 40+ foot yachts. Most of us started with little rowboats.
Currently I am active in the Manasquan River Ya...Expand for more
cht Club, serving as Trustee and enjoy doing the newsletter and other PR work for the club. I race on the Metedeconk once or twice a week on a 33' Tartan.
I got married in 1992. Though we are now divorced, Mary Ann and I remain very close friends and are the proud parents of a great 16 year old, also named Chad. He attends CBA in Lincroft, and loves lacrosse.
I am currently with another wonderful lady, Carolyn, and we have been fortunate to have done a tremendous amount of traveling during the past 10 years. While still trekking, we have decided that our favorites are Prague, Paris, St Petersurg, Copenhagen and the "off-the-main-track" Greek Islands.
Through the years, I have been fortunate to maintain close ties with close friends Bill Walker ('64), Bob Martz ('66), Billy Robinson ('66), Bruce Gallun ('64), Bruce Snow ('65) and have also stayed in touch with the Pijaks, Dick Haines, Don Major, Al and Mary Ann (Tollman) Lehrer, the Warners and a few others.
I am new to this Classmate thing, but really do enjoy good friends and staying in touch with friends from the old "hood".
