Chad's Story
Life
Chad Troutwine is an educator, real estate developer, movie producer, and entrepreneur.
Chad is co-founder and owner of Veritas Prep and Veritas MBA, recognized leaders in standardized test preparation and graduate school admissions consulting. Veritas Prep is located in Malibu, California, but operates in 60 cities around the world and employs more than 250 graduates of the worldÂs elite MBA programs. Veritas Prep has been featured in Forbes and Business Week, and Chad has been invited to speak at Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, and Columbia universities.
Prior to attending graduate business school, Chad purchased and renovated several vacant warehouses helping a spark a surge of historic renovation in his hometown. The Kansas City Star credited his development team with pioneering loft development in the distinctive and historic Crossroads Art District of Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, Chad owns an independent feature film production company. Each of ChadÂs films has premiered at the worldÂs most prestigious festivals: Sundance, Toronto, Venice, or Cannes. His films star recognizable talent, including Natalie Portman, William H. Macy, James Woods, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nick Nolte, Christina Ricci, Daryl Hannah, Giovanni Ribisi, Winona Ryder, Peter Fonda, Elvis Costello, and Vince Vaughn. He has produced films by Academy award-winners Gus Van Sant, Alexander Payne, and Joel & Ethan Coen. Chad has been featured in Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, and the Cannes Market News.
Chad is an attorney and received his MBA with distinction from Yale University, where he served as a student representative on the Admissions Committee. In 1998, he established a law school scholarship in the name of his parents. In recognition of his achievements at such a young age, Forbes magazine named Chad their Forbes Future Capitalist for 2002.
Chad is engaged. He and Sylvia plan to marry after her 2006 graduation from Stanford Law School.
