Charles's Story
Life
Well, It's been awhile, quite awhile since I was in contact with any former Dos Pueblos High school classmate. The last time I was in Goleta, California for that reason was two days into January of 1995. Since then, I have lived in Detroit Michigan for two years, then moved to Rogers City, Michigan to open and run my parents restaurant, "The Roostertail Restaurant". After my Mother died in late 1999, we closed the restaurant. I left for Northern Virginia to begin working for the National RECONNAISSANCE OFFICE IN CHANTILY, VA. I was then and as now a cleared and armed security guard. I married in Northern Michigan to a Ohio-ian and after many unrepairable problems, sought an end to a bad marriage. That was three great years ago and I only regret ever getting married in the first place. I now live in Alexandria, Virginia with a great lady and work in Reston, Virginia at Lockheed Martin Co. with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as a cleared and armed Spec. Security guard. last year. I am looking forward to contacting and meeting-up with other DPHS classmates of 1985.
College
After high school, I attended Santa Barbara City College from 1985 to 1993 when my fund ran dry and had to leave just shy of three classes to finish my dual subject AAS degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and Administration of Justice; At least I accomplished the core classes and have my Certificates in both. I do regret NOT being able to attend my 20th D.P.H.S. reunion in 2005.
Workplace
During the full-time employment between 1994 and 1995, I worked during the Summer of '94 at Dos Peublos HS as security esp. during the July 4th. The experience was fulfilling to protect your al-mada from vandals and fires.
As for finishing what I started? Lockheed Martin Co. has employee assistance which will allow me to attend Northern Virginia Community College(NOVA) to finish my remaining Five(5) classes for S.B.C.C. and through Department of Security Services(DSS) and George Washington University, I can aquire a B.S. in Homeland Security w/ a minor in Industrial Security managemant.
